Course Objective

At the end of the course, delegates will be able to:

  • Identify various weld discontinuities
  • Understand relevant welding technology related to visual inspection
  • Understand the importance of documentation in welding processes
  • Become familiar with codes and standards related to inspection requirements
  • Carry out inspection of parent materials and consumables
  • Perform visual weld inspections, create reports, and assess compliance with specified acceptance criteria
  • Gain sufficient knowledge to successfully complete the CSWIP 3.0 Visual Welding Inspector examinations

  • Physiology of vision
  • Fundamentals of Imaging
  • Visual weld testing practices
  • Effect of fatigue
  • Fiber optic bore scopes
  • Documentation of visual testing
  • Analysis of visual testing

Practical Content: Light intensity measurements, evaluating discontinuities in cast, rolled, forged, welded and inspection of engineering components.

Certificate: Delegates will receive a certificate duly approved by ASNT in compliance to SNT–TC-1A
